Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist in The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired design. The band was never able to The Runaways to become an instant hit in the United States, but they gained a lot of attention in other countries particularly Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career when the group was disbanded in 1979. She began to take voice lessons followed by her first album "Out to Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" in the Edge. Ford did not achieve much with either album and disappeared from the world of rock for 10 years. The smash hit 'Lita' was released in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both quickly became huge hit. Unfortunately, the success of her career was not long-lasting and for several years she went under the radar. In 1995 she debuted "Black" and fifteen years later , she released 'Wicked. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
